Bicyclist Struck And Killed In North Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A bicyclist is dead after being struck by a car overnight in North Philadelphia.
It happened around 12 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Ridge and Girard Avenues.
Police say the 26-year-old biker was crossing eastbound on Girard Avenue when he was struck by a Buick Roadmaster.
The victim suffered multiple fractures and a serious head injury. He was rushed to Hahnemann Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Authorities say the driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
