Vacant House Collapses Overnight In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Bricks rained down on a local street when the front of a house collapsed overnight.

The row home on the 1400 block of Bouvier Street in Point Breeze was vacant at the time, already in danger of collapsing.

The collapse comes on the same day Mayor Nutter, Philadelphia Licenses & Inspections, and the fire department are holding an event to talk about the city’s response to dangerous buildings in the city.

L&I and the fire department will also announce that they will now conduct joint inspections of vacant properties.
