Police: Voicemail Leads To Murder Discovery In West Philly; Suspect Sought

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police say a voicemail led them to the discovery of a woman's body inside her home and now they are searching for her accused killer.

The bizarre set of events began at about 11:59 p.m. on April 5th when a male entered the 12th Police District and said that he received a voicemail on his cell phone which stated that a female was dead inside of her home.

Police went to a home in the 5600 block of Willows Avenue and found the victim unresponsive in a bedroom with a bruise on her head.

The victim, 36-year-old Andrea Roberts, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner's office conducted an autopsy and the cause of death was ruled strangulation and the manner of death a homicide.

Homicide investigators say they are looking for 38-year-old Omar Lewis of Darby, Pa. Lewis, a Jamaican National, also goes by Maurice Lewis and is known to frequent West Philadelphia and Upper Darby.
