Police Recover Vehicle Involved In 17th Street Hit-and-Run

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police say they recovered the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run so violent it severed a woman's leg.

Police recovered the white Dodge Durango Saturday morning on the 6000 block of Marvine Street. The vehicle had heavy damage to its side, including the side mirror.

Police say that vehicle was used to intentionally strike 24-year-old Beatrice Spencer on the 4400 block of North 17th Street Friday where she and another woman were arguing.

According to family members, this was the result of a long-standing feud over a man. Witnesses say the suspect used the car to pin Spencer against her front porch

While en route to the hospital, Spencer's home caught fire thanks to a pot left on a stove.

Police say while the car has been recovered, the suspect is not yet in custody.
