Man Killed When Car Crashes Into Truck, Catches Fire In Delaware

NEWARK, Del. (CBS) - Police say one man is dead after he crashed his car into a tractor-trailer, causing his car to catch fire early Thursday morning in Newark, Delaware.

This happened around 2:15 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-95 near College Avenue.

Police say the victim drove his car into the truck, causing the car to engulf in flames. The driver of the car was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The northbound lanes of I-95 were closed for about 4 hours following the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
