Phillies Look To Find The Offense Tonight Against Mets, Harvey

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The Phillies will look to get back on the winning track tonight as they continue their series in New York against the Mets.

The Phils opened this series yesterday, losing to New York, 2-0. This was the second time the Phillies have been shutout in the young season and they have scored just 16 runs, total, in their first seven games. The loss was the second straight for the Phillies and it dropped their record to 3-4 on the season.

David Buchanan will get the start on the mound tonight for the Phillies. The right-hander struggled in his first start of the season last week against Boston, allowing six runs (all coming in the third) in three innings of work in a 6-2 loss. This will be his fourth career start against the Mets. In the first three, Buchanan has gone 0-2 with a 3.38 ERA.

The struggling Phillies offense will have its work cut out for it tonight against right-hander Matt Harvey. After missing the entire 2014 season recovering Tommy John surgery, Harvey pitched six shutout innings in his 2015 debut last week against Washington. He has dominated the Phils in his career, going 4-0 in five starts with a 1.08 ERA. In 33 1/3 innings of work against the Phillies, Harvey has held them to a .136 batting average.
