Poll: Are You On The Chip Ship?

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- It's Chip Kelly's world and we're just living in it, whether we like it or not.

On January 2nd, 2015 Kelly was given complete personnel control by owner Jeffrey Lurie, making him just the third NFL head coach (along with Bill Belichick and Pete Carroll) to have this power.

Lurie spoke publicly about the power changes for the first time on Tuesday saying, "Chip had a vision of how we could get from good to great. We've gotta be not risk-averse. Our whole thing is not to be satisfied with 10-6, 10-6."

In Kelly's first offseason with GM control (his third offseason with the franchise) he made a plethora of controversial moves which included trading the team's all-time leading rusher in LeSean McCoy and the starting quarterback in Nick Foles, not-retaining the top wideout in Jeremy Maclin, and cutting long-time Eagle players in Trent Cole and Todd Herremans.

The overhaul, which brings Sam Bradford, DeMarco Murray, Ryan Mathews, Kiko Alonso, and Byron Maxwell---among others---to Philly, has spurred critics among fans and media members alike.

Sunday morning on 94WIP, I asked fans if they were on or off the "Chip Ship", and received a mixed reaction.

Wednesday morning on the 94WIP Morning Show Audio Roadshow poll, the majority of fans said they believe Kelly will win a Super Bowl in Philly. Furthermore, on the 94WIP Mike & Ike Show the majority of fans said they believe Kelly will be an Elite general manager.

Kelly addressed the media at the NFL owners meetings on Wednesday. When asked about his philosophical views, Kelly amazingly, made a ship reference!

"People used to think the world was flat, until that guy took a boat and didn't fall off the earth."
