March Madness In Full Swing As Villanova Defeats Lafayette

VILLANOVA, Pa., (CBS) -- March Madness is in full swing at Villanova University as the Wildcats beat the Lafayette Leopards in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
"I love it, I've been waiting for this day since freshman year," said a student.
"I have them winning my bracket," said another.
Students, staff and alumni packed the Connelly Center to cheer on Villanova men's basketball team.
It was a sea of blue and white as the Wildcats now advance to the third round.
Sophomore Sabina Williamson describes the campus spirit.
"Being on campus is just really exciting."
Villanova's campus activities team threw a party for fans, complete with pizza, trivia and music. Sophomore Matt Santovosi describes the fun in helping to put the party together.
""We've had game watch parties all season. We have a great turn out tonight and we're really excited to be playing some music during the commercials," said Santovosi.
From Villanova's campus viewing party to off-campus Kelly's in Bryn Mawr, love for the No. 1 seed Wildcats is strong.
"We're up 11 to 4 right now, looks great, we're going to beat Kentucky," said freshman Tim Concannon.
"We're going to win, and I can't wait, and I'm going to cry," said a student.
"Maybe this is the year," said former Villanova player Eric Eberz.
Eric Eberz, owner of McGillicuddy's, is a former Villanova player. His team won the Big East Title 20 years ago. He's got faith with this year's Big East win they could take home the title for the first time in 30 years.
"The Villanova fans and everything around here has been great this year, a great atmosphere, and everybody is really excited about this year," said Eberz.
It may only be the first round, but students already have their sights set on favorite Kentucky and some have words for President Obama who favored Kentucky to win over Villanova in his bracket picks.
"We're all excited President Obama put us in the finals. We think he made the wrong decision on them winning," said a student.
But amidst a loud and excited crowd at Kelly's, we did find one Lafayette fan.
"It's our first time in March Madness since 2000 so I'm happy to be part of it," said Devon Gorby.
Villanova defeated Lafayette 93-52 on Thursday night.
