Study: About 21 Percent Of High School Girls Have Been Assaulted By Someone They Dated

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A CDC study says that about 21 percent of high school girls have been physically or sexually assaulted by someone they dated, a figure twice as high as previously estimated.

Ten percent of high school boys also report having been abused by a dating partner.

Study authors say teens who have experienced dating violence are at a much higher risk for a variety of serious problems, including suicide.
