Downed Wires Stall Journey For Passengers Along SEPTA's Warminster Line
ROSLYN, Pa. (CBS) -- Approximately 500 passengers were stuck for nearly two hours after live wires came down on a train along SEPTA's Warminster Line Wednesday morning.
The incident happened shortly after 8 a.m. along SEPTA's Warminster Line just south of the Roslyn station.
According to SEPTA officials, the train was left powerless after live wires somehow came down and landed on top of the train.
SEPTA engineers were called to the scene and worked to de-energize the wires.
Shortly before 10 a.m., another train was brought to the scene and the stuck passengers were loaded onto that train and they continued their trek.
The train, which was carrying about 500 passengers, was en-route from Warminster to Center City.
SEPTA ran shuttle buses to transport riders while the Warminster Line was down.
Normal rail service has since been restored to the Warminster Line.
It remains under investigation what caused the wires to come down.
