Cops: 14-Year-Old, Charged With Burglary, Bit Delaware Trooper Who Was Trying To Obtain Fingerprints

NEW CASTLE, Del. (CBS) -- A 14-year-old, who stole clothes from a Delaware store, bit a trooper who was trying to obtain his fingerprints, police said.

The incident began at about 11:35 p.m. Tuesday as Delaware State Troopers were responding to the Trend Settaz clothing store on Christiana Road for the report of a burglary alarm.

As troopers were responding to the scene, they spotted a male, later identified as Lamar D. Gordon, 14, of New Castle, running on DE Rt. 273 in the area of Airport Road, carrying numerous clothing items.

Gordon was eventually taken into custody.

Troopers said they were able to identify the clothing that he was in possession of as belonging to the clothing store, which had in fact been burglarized.

Gordon was transported to Troop 2, Glasgow. As troopers were attempting to obtain fingerprints from him, police say he resisted and bit a male trooper.

The trooper was not seriously injured.

Gordon has been charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Theft, Criminal Mischief, Offensive Touching of a Law Enforcement Officer and Resisting Arrest.

Gordon was sent to the New Castle County Detention Center for lack of $7,500 secured bail.
