Eagles Release TE James Casey

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The Eagles announced on Thursday that they have released tight end and special teams guru James Casey.

Casey, 30, played the last two seasons with the Eagles after signing a three-year, $14.6 million contract in March of 2013. The Eagles will save $4 million by cutting Casey.

Casey played in all but one game during his tenure with the Eagles, primarily on special teams.
