Police: Employee Dispute Turns Deadly At Meat Packing Plant In Montgomery County

FRANCONIA TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- A dispute between two employees turned deadly at a meat packing plant in Montgomery County Wednesday morning, investigators said.

The incident happened around 8:43 a.m. at MOPAC Rendering Plant on Souder Road in Franconia Township.

According to Montgomery County First Assistant District Attorney Kevin Steele, there was an altercation between two employees outside the plant.

At some point during the argument, investigators say one of the employees was stabbed and later died from their wounds.

Authorities identify the stabbing victim as 25-year-old Danny Vazquez. He was taken to Abington-Lansdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A suspect was located at the MOPAC facility and taken to Paoli Memorial Hospital where he is currently undergoing surgery, according to investigators.

Police say a knife was recovered near the suspect and the incident is believed to be isolated.

An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted at the Montgomery County Coroner's Office tomorrow.

The incident remains under investigation.
