Professor Found Dead In Campus Office Of College In Pennsylvania

CALIFORNIA, Pa. (AP) -- A longtime professor has been found dead in his office at a state-owned university in Pennsylvania.

Burrell Brown, a professor at California University of Pennsylvania, was found dead late Sunday. He'd been on the faculty at the school about 30 miles south of Pittsburgh since 1989.

University spokeswoman Christine Kindly says in a statement that Brown was 67 and chair of the Department of Business and Economics when he died.

There were no signs of foul play, though the Washington County coroner could not immediately be reached about the cause of death.

Kindly says Brown "was a distinguished faculty member and campus leader for many years, and he will be greatly missed by the entire campus community."
