By Justin Udo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Tonight, Penn's Landing plays host to two New Year's Eve fireworks shows. The first one took place at 6 p.m. and the second is scheduled for midnight.

The crowd on the riverfront is taking in the sights and sounds.

Bundled in jackets and wrapped in scarves, thousands braved the cold on Penn's Landing for the annual New Year's Eve fireworks show.

"I thought they were pretty cool when they exploded."

"I liked all the colors in the fireworks and how at the end it stopped, but then it came back very strongly."

"It was amazing and there was lots of different colors and had different sounds."

Many of the parents seemed to enjoy the night just as much as the little ones

"It's a great time to end one year and start another one."

"It's great place to bring your kids."

The night was cold, but as the fireworks warmed up the sky you could see by the smiles spread on the on-lookers faces that it helped warm them up too.
