Montco Woman Headed For Trial in Sex-With-Underage-Boy Case

By Brad Segall

UPPER POTTSGROVE, Pa. (CBS) -- A married Montgomery County mother of three who, according to police, was caught having sex with a male high school student inside a parked car last month will stand trial on corruption-of-minors and related charges.

Iris Gibney, 42, waived her preliminary hearing and was ordered held for trial on charges that she engaged in sexual acts with the 17-year-old Pottsgrove High School student.

Prosecutors say Gibney and the teen were caught by police undressed in the back seat of a car, in an Upper Pottsgrove park that was closed.

County prosecutor Kristen Feden says the victim in this case was prepared to testify at the hearing: "at the very least testify as to the pictures that were exchanged, and obviously he would also testify as to the sexual contact that occurred between him and Iris Gibney."

The investigation revealed that the two met at a school function and started communicating with each other on social media.  Police say Gibney sent the teen partially nude pictures.

"I can tell you that Ms. Gibney is devastated by her conduct in this case," says defense attorney Fortunato Perri.  "It's been extremely difficult for her family.  She's been a loving and devoted mother and wife."

As for what may have happened, he says they'll present that at a future court hearing.

Sources say Gibney worked with the cheerleading squad but was not a school employee.
