Hundreds Enjoy Free Christmas Breakfast In Center City

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- A Center City church opened up its doors early Christmas morning as volunteers served a holiday breakfast to hundreds of the less fortunate.
Reverend Robin Hynicka is the pastor at Arch Street United Methodist Church. Each Christmas, a full breakfast of eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, coffee, and more is served to about 400 people.
"Folks will be full not only in the physical sense but in the spiritual sense as well," she says.
Five-star service is the goal, says Anita, a volunteer from Oreland.
"Honoring every person who comes through the door and giving them an opportunity, not just to get a meal in an atmosphere where they're treasured," she says.
10-year-old Meadow and her family volunteers each Christmas. She knows other kids are opening their gifts the same time she's here. And she's fine with that.
"You have a good feeling because you know that you're doing something for other people," says Meadow. "People who don't have as much as you do."
