Volunteers Expand Search For Missing College Student Shane Montgomery

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Friday is Day 8 in the search for missing West Chester University student Shane Montgomery.

Dozens of volunteers were out again tonight, but this time in popular bar areas beyond Manayunk, making a renewed plea for information to bar-goers.

It has now been eight days since 21-year-old Shane Montgomery went missing Thanksgiving morning.

"It might be a big night that we can catch a lot of kids and all we need is one kid who thinks they may know something," said Shane's aunt Marianne Wittman.

Eyewitness News was there as family and friends posted fliers along South Street in Philadelphia. They also talked with bar-goers.

"We're just saturating the city. We're all over the place where college kids would go, trying to hit happy hours. Somebody down this way may have been in Manayunk that night," said Shane's uncle Fred Wittman.

The family would also like people who may have been on Main Street the night Shane went missing to check their cell phones for any pictures that might be of use in the investigation.

Anyone with information is urged to call the FBI at 215-418-4000.

The reward for information in the search for Shane Montgomery currently stands at $40,000.
