Suspect Caught On Video Striking 2 Women At Bus Stop Before Stealing Their Purses

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police are searching for a male suspect caught on video striking two women in the face, causing "severe" cuts.

On Halloween, the two females, ages 19 and 28, can be seen waiting for the bus at 3175 Kensington Avenue around 11:15 p.m.

An unknown male then approaches the two women and gets into a verbal altercation with them. During that argument, police say the suspect strikes one of the women on the cheek with an unknown object, causing a severe laceration, before striking the second woman on the right side of the forehead, again causing a serious cut.

During the struggle, the two victims also dropped their purses, which contained various items and their cell phones.

The suspect fled east on Allegheny Avenue after taking the victims' belongings. He is described as a black male about 37-years-old and 5'7". He walks with a limp and has a medium build, a medium complexion, a full beard and a mini Afro. He was wearing a striped jacket, dark capri pants.

The victims were taken to Temple University, where they were treated and released.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
