Burlco Teen—Who Has Never Lived On A Farm—Is NJ's 12th Agricultural Fair Ambassador

By David Madden

TABERNACLE, NJ (CBS) -- A Burlington County teenager will juggle her schooling and social life with some new responsibilities for the next year, while she serves as New Jersey's Agricultural Fair Ambassador.

Sixteen-year-old Seneca High School Junior Kirsten Jeansson, of Tabernacle, has a lot of her plate, including some two dozen appearances across the state, most of them in the summer, promoting agriculture. Not to mention serving on student council, writing for the school paper and being on the honor roll.

But all that won't get in the way of her first love: riding horses. Even though Kirsten's never lived on a farm, she works part time at one and gets to ride Daniel there regularly.

As for peer pressure? No problem.

"All my closest friends we all ride together, and we're all in 4H together. So they're all very excited for me and they're all very supportive."

Kirsten's future plans include a career in equine management or science.
