Court Date For Frein Postponed Until Next Month

MILFORD, Pa. (AP) — The man charged in the fatal ambush of a Pennsylvania state trooper has a new court date.

Suspect Eric Frein will have his preliminary hearing in Pike County on Dec. 9.

The hearing was originally set for Nov. 12. A judge on Thursday postponed it at the request of defense lawyers.

Frein faces charges of murder and attempted murder for opening fire on the state police barracks at Blooming Grove in September.

Authorities say the 31-year-old marksman killed Cpl. Bryon Dickson and seriously wounded Trooper Alex Douglass. Frein then became a fugitive, but was captured by U.S. marshals last week.

Officials describe Frein as a self-taught survivalist with a vendetta against law enforcement.
