Halloween Forecast: A Trick Or Treat?

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A rather important question for many! But first today's weather.

Thursday features mostly sunny skies. It will feel noticeably cooler, with afternoon highs sitting 10 to 15 degrees below yesterday's. Conditions will then slowly begin to decline through the first half of the weekend.

For Halloween, sunshine will give way to some high clouds later in the day, but trick-or-treaters can expect a dry day. Evening weather will be cool, so make sure to bring along a jacket or sweatshirt!

On Saturday, there is good news and bad news, the latter of which I will give first. It's going to be a wet, chilly, breezy day - which could be good OR bad news for you soccer moms and dads! The good news for everyone is that the Delaware Valley is going to be spared the heaviest rain and worst weather. The two areas of low pressure that will eventually merge to form a large and significant coastal storm aren't going to get their act together until they are mainly over the water, meaning just showers for the region. It is still going to be breezy, it is still going to be cold. Not a nice day for outdoor plans!

The sunshine returns for Sunday, but it will remain raw, with a chilly wind.

We're expecting a temperature rebound heading into next week, with highs bouncing back to at or above normal.

Highs Today:

Philly - 59

Shore - 62

Poconos - 50
