Penn Surpasses Harvard In Measure Of Billionaire Alumni

By Dr. Marciene Mattleman

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Lately there have been many articles on the value of a college education, which careers have better chances for employment, which majors end up with the highest loans. But, The Chronicle of Higher Education cites PayScale which has just released a "College Salary Report" that won't affect many of us, but has special interest for Philadelphians.

Looking at how much graduates earn, early in their careers, the Naval Academy tops the list; for mid-career it's Harvey Mudd College.

CNN then went a step farther ranking "Top Schools With Billionaire Undergraduate Alumni." Penn surpassed Harvard and Yale; but going beyond CNN noted that 35% of billionaires do not have bachelor's degrees.

Let's hope they're all like dropouts Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg who spend much of their fortunes supporting education.
