Health: Better Body For 24 Hours

By Stephanie Stahl

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The 24 hour new you by temporarily changing body parts.  There are some new beauty procedures that can enhance your look, drop a dress size, even increase your bust.  3 On Your Side Health Reporter Stephanie Stahl shows you the results.

"I love it.  It's incredible. I can't even believe that this is me right now," said Angie Diaz as she reacts to a temporary breast enlargement.  Angie added, "I love the way this looks on my body."

But it's only going to last for about 24 hours.

Plastic Surgeon Normal Rowe begins the transformation by outling areas that will be enhanced when he injects saline solution directly into the breasts.

"Patients wanted to know what they looked like before they had the permanent procedure," said Dr. Rowe.

A one day breast enlargement is one of a variety of temporary beauty fixes some doctors are offering patients.  They often come from celebrities who know all about quick fix, beauty secrets to get ready for the red carpet.  Whether it's short term lip plumping or a body wrap that will help you shed inches and dress sizes.

"I had patients come in more recently who wanted something for the night," said Dr. Rowe.

"I think 24 hours is a perfect amount of time.  It's a full day and a full night for you decide if this is the right change for you to make," said Barbara Greenberg, a Psychologist.  She says this temporary route is becoming more common for women who are opting for non-permanent beauty fixes.

"It's every woman's choice and that we really have to be accepting," said Greenberg.

Dr. Rowe says temporary breast enlargements are a growing trend, and he's regularly seeing women who are asking for this short time enhanced look for special occasions

"It's definitely a Cinderella aspect to it.  You got 24 hours to show it off before you kind of transform back to your normal self," said Angie.

"Hopefully they make it home before midnight," joked Dr. Rowe.

The temporary breast enlargement costs around $2,500 dollars; however, that can be applied to the price of a permanent augmentation.

The Academy of Cosmetic Surgery says saline injections are safe, but should only be used to see what permanent implants would like.  It does not recommend that injection be repeated multiple times because of the risk of infection.
