The September Sizzle Is On

By Kate Bilo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The normal high for this time of the year is just 82 degrees, but we have surpassed that number by a decent margin every day this week!

Yesterday was close to average with a high of 84, but highs today, tomorrow and Saturday surge back to around 90 with high humidity. It feels like the August we never had! In fact, humidity will climb to near oppressive levels tomorrow and on Saturday.

We do have a strong cold front advancing into the region on Saturday, with a threat for locally strong thunderstorms, especially in the evening. Once that front passes through, we'll usher in some more typical September weather starting on Sunday -- just in time for the first Eagles regular season game at Lincoln Financial Field! The kickoff temperature will be in the upper 70s and highs Sunday through Tuesday will barely reach 80. It's a refreshing change and perhaps, a little hint of fall in the air.
