PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The newest Cadillac ATS compact luxury sport sedan mounts a credible challenge to Euro luxury sport competitors like Audi, BMW and Mercedes.
With the introduction of the 2015 ATS coupe, Cadillac delves deeper into rival territory. While sharing the overall profile of the already popular 4-door sedan, the ATS Coupe starts fresh at the front with a new grille and a new more contemporary badge without the glitzy Cadillac silver laurel.
The hood is the only common exterior feature between the coupe and sedan. The rest of the body is more softly sculpted and drops overall weight using high strength steel and structural adhesives.
The ATS coupe also sports a lower roofline, is wider in the rear by some 2 inches, and has an accent line that dramatizes the downward sweep in the back.
Performance in the ATS coupe is exceptional with 50/50 weight balance front to back, especially with the premium FE3 suspension with magnetic ride control. Available in a 2.0 liter Turbo 4 cylinder with a 6-speed manual transmission, the ATS is an exciting driver’s car with impressive 21 city and 31 highway mileage stats.
