Apple getting social?
One of the biggest brands with little presence on any social network is Apple but that may be changing with the recent hire of Musa Tariq the former social media chief for Nike and Burberry.
Currently there isn’t a Twitter or Facebook feed for Apple and its unclear whether Tariq addition will change the company’s social strategy.
Instagram users more likely to engage with brands on the platform
In the second quarter, Instagram users engaged with brands’ posts at twice the rate that Facebook users did.
According to Ad Age, users liked, commented, and shared companies’ content on Instagram an average of 6,932 times per post, compared to Facebook’s 2,396 actions per post.
Facebook updates Windows Phone App
The update brings a bunch of new features out of beta, including a new design and the ability to upload videos taken on the phone directly from the app.
The app now supports more languages and integrates with Facebook Messenger.
