Philadelphia Ranked One Of Most Affordable U.S. Cities For A Summer Getaway

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Quick, tell all your out of town friends: Philadelphia is one of the least expensive U.S. cities to visit this summer.

TripAdvisor recently released its fourth annual "TripIndex Cities," which compares the average prices of an overnight stay for two with dinner, wine, cocktails and a round-trip taxi ride in 67 cities across the country.

While Las Vegas is the cheapest American city to visit during summer 2014, Philadelphia came in eighth, just behind Dallas and ahead of Minneapolis.

According to the TripIndex Cities roundup, the cost of that overnight stay for two in Philadelphia is about $352.43.

Worldwide, Hanoi (Vietnam) and Jakarta (Indonesia) are the least expensive cities at approximately $150 for an overnight stay. San Francisco, New York, London and Paris are some of the world's most expensive.
