Weekend Winner, Take 2

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A bit of déjà vu this weekend. It feels like only a week ago I was writing to tell you all of the great weekend ahead; that's because it was!

High pressure will be in control through Sunday. Other than a few clouds to start in some spots, Friday is looking like a fantastic day. Sunny skies will dominate, and temperatures will be pleasant both during the day (around 80) and at night (around 60).

Saturday and Sunday both look terrific as well, with highs in the mid-80s. Certainly great beach weather, but keep in mind the UV Index will be high each day, at 9.

Our next chance of rain returns just in time to head back to work on Monday. Until then, enjoy the great early summer weather!

Today In Weather History:

2002: The parking lot of a closed service station at Somers Point, Atlantic County, NJ, was hit by lightning. It traveled to the underground storage tank. The resulting explosion left a crater 50' in diameter and 8-10' deep.
