Facebook Unveils "Ask" Feature To Let Friends Know Even More About Your Life

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Most people share their full name, email address, age, occupation and even relationship status on Facebook, but for those who are less open, they are able to hide such information from others users.

Well, there is good news for all the nosy folks out there. Those friends who you are just dying to know if they are single, or if they started a new job, you can click an "Ask" button and find out what the deal is.

Clicking the "Ask" button opens a small window with a text box for you to explain why you are interested in knowing the requested information.

The user will then receive a notification saying that you want to know about his or her unfilled out status and why. This in turn takes you to the hardest part, the waiting game.

A Facebook spokeswoman says that similar "Ask" buttons have been available for a few months.

At least it is more suave than the Facebook "poke."
