WEATHER BLOG: Pleasant But Still A Shower Chance

By Justin Drabick

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A cold front moving through the Delaware Valley Saturday night has triggered a few showers and thunderstorms.  The showers will come to an end overnight with partly cloudy skies and low temperatures in the 40s to around 50.

Behind the front, expect some sunshine around for Sunday morning with dry conditions and temperatures in the mid 50s for the start of the Broad Street Run.  Windy conditions will develop on Sunday with winds sustained 15-25 mph with higher gusts.  Clouds will build up again in the afternoon with a scattered shower or storm possible, as an upper-level disturbance passes through the region late in the day.  High on Sunday will be slightly above average in the upper 60s.

The work week will start off quiet and pleasant with some sunshine around and high temperatures a few degrees below average in the mid to upper 60s.  A warm front will then move through the region late in the week bringing in a warmer air mass with some showers for Thursday.  High temperatures for the end of the week with be in the 70s and we will have a shot at 80 on Friday, if we see enough sunshine.
