PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Caught on tape: a shootout at a Northeast Philadelphia motel.
Philadelphia Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the suspects.
Police say the surveillance video speaks for itself and the men caught on tape are still out there.
“We don’t know what’s the motive behind this. Either way, it’s still a problem. There’s no way you can have individuals shooting at each other especially inside of an occupied hotel,” Lt. John Stanford of Philadelphia Police said.
On March 31st at 12:28 a.m., officers responded to a radio call for a shooting inside the Roosevelt Motor Inn at the 7600 block of Roosevelt Boulevard.
When police arrived, an employee said he heard gunshots coming from a hallway.
Police say soon after the gunshots, an unknown male ran past the front desk armed with a handgun and fled through the parking lot then south on the Roosevelt Boulevard.
According to police, surveillance video recovered depicts a group of males running through the hallways shooting at each other.
Police say no one was injured.
“We’re lucky that no one was injured and no one was killed as a result of this,” Lt. Stanford said.
