Authorities Revisit Site Where South Jersey Woman's Body Was Found

By Molly Daly

GLOUCESTER Twp., N.J., (CBS) -- On June 24th of last year, the body of 59-year-old Carol Reiff was found in a wooded area near her home in the Lakeview Apartments in Gloucester Township, New Jersey (See Previous Story).

Monday, on the nine-month anniversary of the grim discovery, investigators sought to breathe new life into the case.

Camden County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Jason Laughlin says more than thirty people, Gloucester Township Police officers and prosecutor's office investigators, descended on the apartment complex, knocking on doors, handing out fliers, and revisiting the normally overgrown area where Reiff's body was found.

"The thought was with winter having cleared out a lot of that it was worth taking a look again before it started growing back as the weather warmed," Laughlin said.

The cause of Reiff's death couldn't be determined, but Laughlin says it was clearly suspicious, and someone was responsible. It's hoped today's effort will jog memories.

"We need to have someone who can say, 'I know something about what happened to her that night. Somebody said something, I overheard something.' Something even that simple could bring this case to a close," Laughlin said.

Laughlin says anyone with information is asked to call 911.
