Car Slams Into Cleaners In Frankford

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Police are investigating what caused a driver to slam their car into a business in Philadelphia early Monday morning.

The incident happened at about 1 a.m. at Torresdale Avenue and Simon Street in the city’s Frankford section.

According to investigators, a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling eastbound on Torresdale Avenue when the male driver lost control and crashed into Cardinal Cleaners.

The building sustained serious damage.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Police are investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
