Former Jerry Sandusky Lawyer Subject Of Probe
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) -- A prosecutor in Pennsylvania says his office is investigating whether one of Jerry Sandusky's former defense attorneys stole "a significant amount of client funds."
Cumberland County District Attorney David Freed released a statement Monday that said he learned of allegations against Karl Rominger that concern a divorce case last week and that his office is currently using forensic accounting tools to investigate.
Freed says he's met with Rominger's defense attorney, Bill Costopoulos, who stated a desire to cooperate.
Rominger told The Associated Press on Friday that he's "cooperating completely" and referred further questions to Costopoulos, who wasn't immediately available.
A lawyer involved in Sandusky's appeal of his child molestation conviction says Rominger's representation of Sandusky ended some time ago.
Rominger's law firm is based in Carlisle.
