Burlington County Police Arrest 17 On Narcotics Charges

BURLINGTON, NJ (CBS) – Police in Burlington County have announced the arrest of 17 people during two joint operations relating to narcotics.

Police say they first searched two residences within the New Yorkshire neighborhood, resulting in six arrests. Those arrested are:

Jerry Lee Hicks, age 42, of Burlington City – Charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute, Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 1,000 of School Property, Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 500 Feet of a Public Playground, Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm for an Unlawful Purpose, Possession of a Firearm in the commission of a Narcotic Offense, Certain Persons Not Permitted to Carry a Weapon, and Receiving Stolen Property. Mr. Hicks was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $300,000, No 10% Bail.

-Katrina Williams, age 34, of Burlington City - Charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute, Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 1,000 of School Property, Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 500 Feet of a Public Playground, Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm for an Unlawful Purpose, Possession of a Firearm in the commission of a Narcotic Offense, and Receiving Stolen Property. Ms. Williams was lodged in the Burlington County Jail, Minimum Security Facility in default of $225,000, No 10% Bail.

Rhyman Hicks, age 47, of Burlington City – Charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute, Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 1,000 of School Property, and Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 500 Feet of Public Housing.
Hicks also had contempt warrants from Burlington City and the Burlington County Sheriff's Department. He was lodged in default of $109,256 No 10% Bail.

Aaron Ritman, age 39, of Burlington City - Charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute, Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 1,000 of School Property, and Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 500 Feet of Public Housing. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $65,000 No 10% Bail.

Jamie Hans, age 36, of Edgewater Park - Charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute, Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 1,000 of School Property, and Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 500 Feet of Public Housing. She was lodged in the Burlington County Jail, Minimum Security Facility in default of $13,500 No 10% Bail.

Howard Young, age 20, of Burlington City – Charged with Obstruction of Justice and Resisting Arrest when he attempted to forcibly enter a target residence on East Federal Street during the search while officers were on location. He was released pending a court appearance; however, he was again charged a few hours later for Obstruction of Justice and Resisting Arrest for the second time at the corner of East Federal Street and York Street when he ran from police officers during an investigation. He was apprehended along with two other individuals (See Below) and lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $3,000 No 10% Bail.

During the second part of the joint operation, police arrested a number of individuals with outstanding warrants while on patrol in the New Yorkshire and downtown areas using undercover vehicles. Twelve people were arrested during this operation:

-Nathaniel James, age 19, of Burlington City – Arrested at the corner of East Federal Street and York Street for an outstanding contempt warrant. James was found to be in possession of fifteen (15) bags of marijuana, packaged for street level distribution. He was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance with the Intent to Distribute, Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 1,000 of School Property, and Distribution of a Controlled Dangerous Substance within 500 of Public Housing. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $50,200 No 10% Bail.

-Altariq Jenkins, age 41, of Burlington City – Arrested at the corner of York Street and Mechanic Street for an outstanding contempt warrant issued by the Burlington County Sheriff's Department. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of bail.

-Glenn Conyers Jr., age 26, of Burlington City – Arrested on the 400 Block of High Street pertaining an outstanding Domestic Assault Warrant. He was processed and released after posting cash bail.

-Henry Pinkney, age 51, of Burlington City – Arrested at the corner of York and Green Streets for an outstanding contempt warrant. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of bail.

-Jack Morton, age 25, of Burlington City – Arrested in the area of Route 130 and York Street. Morton charged with Hindering his own Apprehension and lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $500.00 No 10% Bail.

-Joseph Moyer-McEwen, age 31, of Burlington City – Arrested at the corner of East Union Street and Saint Mary Street for an active contempt warrant. He was released after posting cash bail.

-Kayla Carucci, age 24, of Edgewater Park – Arrested at the corner of Route 130 and High Street for an outstanding contempt warrant. She was lodged in the Burlington County Jail, Minimum Security in default of bail.

-Michael Warren, age 35, of Willingboro – Arrested at the corner of East Federal Street and York Street in reference to an outstanding contempt warrant issued by the Burlington County Sheriff's Department. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of bail.

-Mark Shaw, age 24, of Willingboro – Arrested in a rear yard on the 100 Block of East Federal Street after fleeing from officers on foot at the corner of East Federal Street and York Street. Shaw had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was additionally charged with Obstruction of Justice and Resisting Arrest. He was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in default of $6,284 No 10% Bail.

-Itoka Fennell, age 34, of Burlington City – Arrested in a rear yard on the 100 Block of East Federal Street after fleeing from officers on foot at the corner of East Federal Street and York Street. He was charged with Obstruction of Justice and Resisting Arrest. Fennell was released pending a court appearance.

Burlington County police say a number of agencies assisted in the operations, including the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office Guns, Gangs, and Narcotics Task Force, as well as the Burlington Township and Riverton Boro Police Departments, Burlington County Sheriff's Department Fugitive Unit and the Maple Shade Police Department.
