94WIP's Great Birds Debate: The Official Odds

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – 94WIP Afternoons host Rob Ellis has promised "one for the thumb," in Thursday's 7th annual Great Birds Debate. The odds are in his favor.

Ellis has won four consecutive Great Birds Debates, 94WIP's annual meeting of the minds to argue about the state of the Philadelphia Eagles. The event is Thursday at noon, at Chickie's and Pete's in South Philadelphia. He'll be going for his fifth win against last year's runner up, Ike Reese, Anthony Gargano, Angelo Cataldi, Rhea Hughes, Michael Barkann, Howard Eskin, and Josh Innes, all 94WIP personalities. Also debating will be CBS3 Sports Director Beasley Reece, and Dave Spadaro of PhiladelphiaEagles.com.

The winner will be decided by fan vote, either by texting to 94WIP's shortcode, 84828, or voting at cbsphilly.com/debate.

The host of the pregame and postgame shows along with Ray Didinger, 94WIP's Rob Charry, has released his "official odds" for who will win the debate. The following are Charry's odds, as well as his comments.

Rob Ellis (2-1) - Highly motivated four-time champ, strong Delco base.

Angelo Cataldi (5-2) - Former champion, well rested, out for revenge.

Ike Reese (6-1) - Another former champion, always close.

Rhea Hughes (8-1) - Sharp workouts, after a year layoff.

Anthony Gargano (10-1) - Prefers moderator role, could surprise.

Howard Eskin (12-1) - Prefers Andy Reid, can kiss up to any coach and alienate any crowd.

Michael Barkann (15-1) - Quick with a quip, unlikely to get physical or "down in the dirt."

Josh Innes (20-1) - First timer, in deep.

Beasley Reece (25-1) - Proven Anthem singer, but played for Giants.

Dave Spadaro (30-1) - Eagles Insider, an outsider in this setting.

Charry notes that Ike Reese is his "Novacare Value Pick," Rhea Hughes is the "Novacare Ray's Play," and Gargano is the "Novacare Longshot."
