La Salle Pulls Away In 2nd, Tops Duquesne 71-63

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Steve Zack scored 16 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as La Salle topped Duquesne 71-63 on Saturday, snapping a three-game losing streak.

The Explorers (12-9, 4-3 Atlantic 10) led by just 2 at halftime but extended their lead to 51-36 on a jumper by Zack with 9:53 to play.

Tyreek Duren added 13 points for La Salle while Jerrell Wright and Tyrone Garland both had 11 and Sam Mills had 10. The Explorers shot just 38.1 percent from the field but grabbed 47 rebounds.

Ovie Soko led Duquesne (10-10, 2-5) with 23 points and Tra'Vaughn White had 13, but the Dukes shot just 35.9 percent from the field. Other than Soko and White, the rest of the team made only 9 of 36 field goals.
