Police Searching For Man Who Tried To Rob Philadelphia Hallmark Store -- With A Card

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Here's a cheerful greeting card idea: "Give me all the money or I will kill you."

At least, that's what the suspect who tried to rob a Philadelphia Hallmark store at 1617 JFK Boulevard last week came up with.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department's YouTube page, the suspect presented the store's cashier with a card that had that lovely sentiment written inside of it during an attempted robbery around 4 p.m. on Jan. 24th.

Unfortunately for the criminal wordsmith, the store cashier was unimpressed – that person called another employee over, and the suspect ran off without any money.

Police describe the suspect as a black male in his 40s with a medium build, glasses and a beard and mustache. He was wearing a green jacket with the Champion logo on the left side, black pants and white sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
