Old Dangers On New Year's Eve

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - I know that it sounds like I say this every year…and that is because I say it every year and have been saying it for a quarter century but New Years Eve is a time for celebration but celebration under control.

Sadly the reason I give this advice year after year is because people often disregard the message and put themselves and others at risk.

We all know the problem…drinking and driving. New Years is associated with celebrations and, in many cases, alcohol and year after year some people get into their cars and drive despite being under the influence.

Please don't be one of these people and if you plan to be out and about this evening, wear seatbelts, put the kids in car seats and be vigilant.

Sadly there will be others on the road who will be putting you at risk.
