Bucks County Bank Robbery Suspect Flees In Beetle

NEWTOWN Twp., Pa., (CBS) -- The Newtown Township Police Department and the FBI are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating a man wanted in connection with a bank robbery Monday.

It happened around 1:55 p.m. at the Monument Bank branch at 30 Swamp Road in Newtown, Bucks County.

Investigators say the suspect entered the bank and handed a teller a threatening demand note. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled in a silver VW Beetle.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 30-to-35 years old, 6'2" tall, and clean-shaven. He wore a red zip-neck sweatshirt and a dark green knit winter hat.

Investigators say this suspect is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is urged to call the FBI at 215-641-8910 or the Newtown Township Police Department at 215-504-2201. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject's capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
