New Jerseyans Curse A lot According To Study

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)—According to a study, people of New Jersey have quite the potty mouths.

Marchex's data and research team examined more than 600,000 phone calls over 12 months. The calls monitored were placed from consumers to businesses across 30 industries, including cable companies, car dealerships and more.

The research revealed that the folks in Ohio curse the most in the country, followed by Maryland and rounding out the top three is New Jersey.

Washington people swore the least, followed by those in Massachusetts and Arizona.

Ohioans also landed in the top five of the "least courteous" category.  Ohio residents seemed to struggle with saying "please" and "thank you," which were the keywords Marchex scanned for when collecting data.

The research also revealed that 66 percent of the curses came from men, and calls in the morning are twice as likely to produce cursing as calls in the afternoon or evening.

Moral of the story, have that morning cup of coffee before calling your cable company.
