Patience The Key Word At Philadelphia International Airport

By Steve Beck

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- As a storm packed with a mixed bag of precipitation impacts the region just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday travel, one word is key at Philadelphia International Airport: patience!

The precipitation rolled into the area Tuesday afternoon and is expected to linger into Wednesday; which is one of the busiest travel days of the year.

Victoria Lupica, spokesperson for the Philadelphia International Airport, has this sound advice: "travelers and those coming to the airport to pick up arriving guests should allow plenty of time to get to the Airport, particularly since we are expecting rain tomorrow (Wednesday) morning."

Lupica strongly recommended that travelers check with their airline on flight status or call the toll-free flight information line at 1-800-PHL-GATE for up to the minute schedule status.

Lupica added that the airport has TSA pre-check lanes at Terminals A-East, B, C and D/E for frequent travelers who are enrolled in the program, which allows expedited screening benefits.
