Delaware County SPCA Offering Reduced Adoption Rates On Black Friday

MEDIA, Pa. (CBS) – Black Friday is quickly approaching, but major department stores aren't the only ones offering deals.

In Media, the Delaware County SPCA will be offering reduced adoption fees on many of its animals.

Beginning at 10 a.m. on Black Friday, the animal rescue organization will be offering most of its dogs and cats for just $20.13. Starting at noon, a "plethora of puppies" (like those pictured) will be available for adoption as well. Adoption fees for cats over seven months old will be waived.

Area residents looking to add a new furry friend to the family can stop in for oatmeal in the morning and a bake sale with hot chocolate and cider in the afternoon.

And if you can't make it over the day after Thanksgiving, the Delaware County SPCA is also offering a "Back in Black" adoption special through November 30th that applies to all black animals. Cats are $5, kittens are $15, dogs are $25 and puppies are $125. Plus, pets in all other color will be eligible for a 50% discount with the organization's Facebook coupon. If you adopt one kitten, the second is free.

The SPCA says fees normally range from $80 for adult cats to more than $300 for puppies.
