Heavy Rains, High Winds Causing Delays, Outages And Downed Trees In Philadelphia Region

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Heavy rains and high winds in the area are causing power outages, downed trees and the like.

As of noon, PECO is reporting 8,897 outages in Montgomery County and 1,192 in Chester County. PSE&G says it has about 500 outages, mostly in Burlington County.

SEPTA's Regional Rail airport route was suspended for hours on Friday morning but was restored around 11 a.m. SEPTA says all Regional Rail lines are experiencing delays.

Philadelphia International Airport is currently reporting arrival delays of about two hours on many flights. Travelers are being urged to check flight information before heading to the airport due to possible weather-related delays or cancellations.

On North 7th Street in Philadelphia's Hunting Park section, a large tree fell onto three houses. Crews are on the scene working to remove it, and no injuries were reported.
