PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It’s one of the greatest cities in the world, and this Columbus Day Weekend, the Philly POPS, led by new music director and conductor Michael Krajewski, will showcase the City of Brotherly Love with “Viva Philadelphia!” at the Kimmel Center.

Listen to the podcast below…

“We’re just celebrating the musical heritage of the city of Philadelphia; in particular, the Italian heritage,” Krajewski explains.

The concert will feature a wide variety of music and styles from many different Italian singers.

“We’re going to pay tribute to Philadelphia’s own Mario Lanza,” Krajewski says. “We’re also going to be paying tribute to some great Italian-American singers like Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett.”
