Bucks County Hosting An Ancestry Fair

By Brad Segall

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)--If you're interested in your family's heritage, then the Bucks County Ancestry Fair is the place to be Saturday.

There has been a general interest in learning more about our ancestry, in part because websites provide easy access to obtaining the information and because of popular culture's interest in genealogy with TV shows like "Who Do You Think You Are."

Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Geneaological Society Joyce Homan says another reason is because of our nation's history.

"Everyone comes from somewhere else, in general, you know? We're a nation of immigrants, people have migrated from various places and sometimes we lose touch with that," Homan says.

The Society will host its 7th Annual Bucks County Ancestry Fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

It's free and will be held at the Bucks County Visitor Center on Street Road in Bensalem.
