Several Injured In Multi-Car Crash On Atlantic City Expressway

WINSLOW TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) -- Several people were injured during a multi-vehicle crash along the Atlantic City Expressway Friday morning.

The crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the Expressway just south of the Berlin-Cross Keys Road exit.

According to investigators, a total of four cars were involved in the crash.

Authorities say one person was ejected during the crash.

Two people were airlifted to Cooper University Hospital and at least two others were taken by ambulance to Cooper Hospital.

The conditions of the injured were not immediately known.

The roadway was intermittently closed as crews cleaned up the scene and police investigated the crash. Motorists are urged to avoid the area if possible as police continue their investigation.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
