Cape May Zoo Announces Adorable New Addition

CAPE MAY, NJ (CBS) – In cute news of the day, the Cape May Zoo is celebrating its latest addition.

A baby Bison that has yet to be named was born at the zoo on August 29th, 2013.

The female calf, daughter of 4-year-old Henrietta and Hank, is the first Bison ever born to the Cape May Zoo.

In addition to being incredibly adorable, the baby Bison is also representative of one of the most important animals in U.S. history. After almost being driven to extinction in the 1800s, Bison were brought back to stable population levels by zoo conservation efforts.

Want to get a look at the zoo's new Bison? You can see her in the Cape May Zoo's North American Prairie exhibit.
