PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A staff sergeant stationed at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst was killed in a motorcycle accident Tuesday night, U.S. Air Force officials announced.

Staff Sgt. Shaun Fischer, 33, was taken to Lourdes Emergency Room at the Deborah Heart and Lung Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Officials say no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

“The 621st Contingency Response Wing is deeply saddened to lose one of our own,” said Col. Martin Chapin, 621st CRW commander in a statement. “As we move forward from this tragedy, we will make sure we focus our efforts on the care of this airman’s family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this sad loss.”

The incident remains investigation.
